Buyer Fatigue – Phenomenon Taking Shape in Today’s Market!

There is no doubt we are still in a seller’s seller’s market with Low inventory… although  interest rates are on the rise, and the pandemic-driven desire of many buyers to leave cities and move to suburban and rural areas, has resulted in fierce competition for available homes. Many sellers are receiving multiple offers, often way above listing price. The result of these bidding wars has created extreme buyer fatigue.

Many buyers are simply exhausted just trying to secure a  home. Without an understanding of the market as it is today, many homebuyers are submitting offers and being outbid, and this process is unforntally repeated over and over again. So, how does a homebuyer defend against buyer fatigue?

  • The first step is to choose an experienced agent. It’s essential to have someone who understands the market and how to write a winning offer while protecting your interests. It’s also important to find an agent who communicates and strategizes with you to help you reach your real estate goals.
  • Talk to a LOCAL mortgage specialist about the financing options available to you, and get pre-approved before making an offer. It’s important to have all paperwork completed.
  • When you find a home that you love, go all in with your first offer. Your real estate agent will guide you.
  • Take another look at your “wish list.” You may have to compromise on what you consider a perfect home in a perfect location. By broadening your search, you just might find that special house that will become your home.
