Don’t Get Lost in the Noise of the Recent NAR Settlement
As part of my unwavering commitment to you,
here’s what you need to know.
A few policy changes outlined in the National Association of Realtors (“NAR”) settlement agreement, which will take effect as early as August 17th, will require realtors who belong to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) to now require home buyers to enter into “Buyer Agency Agreements” before touring homes.
So what does this mean for YOU shopping for a home? Simply, it’s an agreement entered into with your realtor with transparency of services offered in a “Buyer Agency Agreement.” This will ideally outline the services that will be provided to you during the course of the agreement and compensation before touring homes. Buyer agency agreements are not new; the only change is that as of August 17, they are required to tour homes.
You’ll hear the buzz as these policy changes start to take shape and set new industry standards that will certainly enhance transparency with contract agreements, strengthen business relationships, and provide additional value to consumers with clear representation aligned with their realtor, who will continue to represent the best interests of their clients.
With unwavering commitment, my priority is to build and maintain trust by fulfilling my fiduciary duties as your realtor with exceptional skillful service in the purchase and/or sale of your most significant asset—your home.
I welcome the opportunity to schedule a buyer consultation with you so that you are well-versed with the new policies of touring homes and buyer representation agreements. For my homeowners coming into the market getting ready to sell, I’m ready to provide you with skilled experience as your Seller’s Representative Specialist in listing your home.
The NAR settlement is pending final court approval on November 26, 2024.
